Professional Associations

Professional Associations are a great way to meet other writers. They offer conferences and classes to improve your writing and opportunities to hear best selling authors. You can find critique groups, writing contests, meet agents and editors.

International Thriller Writers   Their annual conference ‘The Big Thrill’ can be found at Thrillerfest.

Mystery Writers of America  Check out the Florida chapter too: MWAFlorida.org and the annual writing conference: Sleuthfest.

Romance Writers of America promotes networking and advocacy of romance writers. Find Florida chapter at www.frwriters.org.

Sisters in Crime supports the ongoing advancement, recognition and professional development of women crime writers.

The National League of American Pen Women   Promoting creative excellence in women who have published since 1897.

Florida Writers Association  Networking, education, and support for Florida writers in all genres.

SCBWI: The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Serving the people who write and illustrate children’s literature.

American Library Association largest library association in the world. Includes association information, news, events, and advocacy
